How have you been involved in church music ministry over the years?

I spent 5 years as a chorister at Lichfield Cathedral, then 9 years as an organist accompanying choral singing at school and university. Since 1995 I have been co-ordinating the music and musicians at St Helen’s Bishopsgate, writing a few congregational songs, More widely I’ve been privileged to be involved training men and women as church music apprentices, writing a regular column for Evangelicals Now and running a weekly music stream on the Cornhill Training Course in London.

What are you particularly passionate about when it comes to church music?

Hearing the name of Jesus proclaimed faithfully and heartily.

Here’s a recent article I wrote:

Mediocrity is Under-rated
